How we broke the mould with YouthX
YouthX is an exclusive round-the-clock portal brought to you by Unlocked.Me and Nedbank. YouthX has been tailor-made for you with all the resources you need to unlock your potential, make the most of your passions, exchange expertise with other youth, and learn from the inspirational YouthX changemakers, who are masters of their respective industries and use social platforms to drive positive change. YouthX has been particularly important in the current environment, where the pandemic has further strained access to resources.
Following these awesome YouthX live events, six passionate young changemakers from around South Africa were awarded prizes to the value of R2,2 million. Each winner walked away with R300 000 in prizes, including R50 000 in cash, a Huawei technology bundle, mentorship, and learning or networking opportunities from our changemakers themselves. These ground-breaking YouthX Awards took place at the inaugural YouthX Summit, which was broadcasted on DStv.
Nedbank’s Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Khensani Nobanda, said at the time: ‘When we launched the YouthX programme in March this year, the unemployment rate among the youth was at a record high. As Nedbank, we saw an opportunity to help the youth of South Africa by providing resources that would enable them to unlock their potential, whether in their businesses, careers, communities, or other interests. We have always been passionate about young people and today is a great demonstration of our commitment to the youth. Congratulations to all the winners! May you continue to push boundaries and inspire other young people in your communities.’
