#CheckYoSelf - It's all about your attitude

My Career
My Career

‘Go in there and make them think that you’re the coolest thing since sliced bread.’ – Dad proverb

I know what you’re thinking, ‘I ain’t no pretender, I will not plaster a smile on my face and think happy thoughts’. But having a good attitude is so much more than that. You know that we are not about that poser life, so stop rolling your eyes and listen up.

Here are five ways to maintain a positive attitude while you’re making bank.

  •      Surround yourself with positive people

Try to connect with people who like their job, have new ideas, and are interested in lots of things besides work. It’ll make your whole outlook better.

  •      Fill your mind with positive things

Listen to positive music or inspirational audio books on the drive to work. Read books that are encouraging and watch videos and listen to podcasts that are positive or help you improve your skills.

  •      Control your language

Be aware of how you choose to think and speak at work. Find a positive way to view everything and everyone, it might be the difference between seeing your day as filled with tasks, or filled with opportunities.

  •      Create a routine for the day.

Create a routine that helps you get the most important work done first, take breaks at the right time, and leave the last hour or so of the work day for less arduous work and preparation for the next day.

  •      Be nice to other people.

If you make being nice to other people a regular thing, it’ll become a cycle of generosity and happiness that makes you feel good, and makes others feel good too. Win-win.
