Here is your Dezemba 2019 mantra: Stay healthy, stay safe, stay woke and stay hydrated! Here are four yummy summer smoothies to start off your summer daze! 

1.The watermelon wonder

Ingredients:                    

1 cup fresh diced watermelon

1 cup chopped strawberries

1 ripe and frozen banana

1 cup sugar free coconut water

1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Why it is good for you:This watermelon powerhouse contains vitamins A, B6 and C; antioxidants; amino acids; and tons of lycopene. Them good-old strawberries are packed with fibre, vitamins and polyphenols, and banana are crammed with calcium and potassium. And for that extra kick, coconut water aids in replenishing electrolytes and keeping you extra cool.

 

2.The berry booster

Ingredients:

¼ cup chopped strawberries  

¼ cup frozen blueberries

¼ cup pitted cherries

¼ cup frozen raspberries

½ ripe and frozen banana

1 cup fresh orange juice

¼ cup Greek yoghurt

Why it is good for you:Them berries are packed with vitamin C, are low in calories and have amazing antioxidant properties. You will be glowing for days!

 

3.The mangos mamba

Ingredients:                    

2 cups frozen and chopped mangoes

1 cup pure coconut milk

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Why it is good for you:    Coconut milk lowers your cholesterol levels, prevents heart strokes and, as if that wasn't awesome enough, improves blood pressure. Mangoes are super rich in fibre and vitamins A, C and B6, and even aid in keeping your glycaemic index in control.

 

4. It’s all peachy

Ingredients:                    

1 cup frozen and chopped peaches

½ cup frozen pineapple

1 ripe and frozen banana

2 cups washed kale

2 scoops of your fave vanilla protein powder

1 cup almond or soy milk

1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

Why it is good for you:Peaches give you vitamins A and C, potassium and dietary fibre. Pineapples are packed with a whole lot of awesome in the form of vitamin C, calcium, phosphorous, manganese and potassium. And kale is loaded with lutein, zeaxanthin, zinc, calcium and potassium.
