Surf those internet waves safely

Daily Deals

So, this is my daily routine: I wake up using the alarm on my phone. I work out using an app on my phone. I make breakfast with a recipe I found on an Instagram video. I wash my hair using products recommended to me by my favourite influencer and which I also ordered online. Then I drive to work using my fave navigation app. I order my lunch using a food delivery app. Then when I get home I stream my favourite show on Showmax (FYI, buy your Showmax vouchers here).

If you're anything like me and you spend that much time online, you'll understand why it's so important to surf that wave safely and protect your personal information!

Here are some quick tips for safe surfing!

Install and use a reliable antivirus software
Reliable antivirus software will detect, remove and prevent and new infections on your devices. Make sure you do your research and choose a software program that is reliable and fits your needs!

Install and use a firewall
No, this is not some sort of 80s cult rock album. A firewall is an app that protects your computer from hackers gaining unauthorised access to your computer.

Set a ninja-level password
A strong password is like adding a state-of-the-art security system to your home. The more difficult it is to gain access to your accounts, the safer they are.

Keep your security software up to date
Don't you dare click that 'Remind me later' button! Cyber bad guys and girls are constantly finding new and sneaky ways to infiltrate your devices.

Resist the urge to click links in your emails and instant messages
Just don't, even if it's your mom! It's always possible that the link is infected and the sender is unaware of it, or that it was sent using one of their accounts.
