Happy Women’s Month, Unlocked.Me Fam! This is the perfect time to get that oh-so-needed me time while you take a break from being #bossladies, speaking truth to power, bringing down the patriarchy, breaking the glass ceiling, fighting for equality, changing the world for the better of all humankind and just being awesome!

Check out these seven self-care tips to recharge your batteries and take care of your mental and physical wellness.

1.Dance away those bad vibes

  • Turn on them tunes as soon as you open your eyes in the morning. Whether you’re feeling some Brenda Fassie, Sho Madjozi or even some Justin Bieber. If it makes you move, helps you forget your troubles and gives you those positive vibes, TURN IT UP! Unlike a cup of coffee, that endorphin buzz will last you the entire day. Now, just relax and dance, dance, dance! Find your new tunes here.

2.Find your inner Yogi

  • While Yoga will help you get that Kardashian-teenier-than-ever waist, it also has tons of benefits that will help you improve your mental health. Yoga helps to increase your body awareness, relieve everyday stress, reduce built-up muscle tension, strain and inflammation. And as if that's not enough, yoga also sharpens your attention and concentration, and even helps to calm and canter your nervous system … and the endorphins don’t hurt either.

3.Get some fresh air

  • Take a jog, a run, a walk or a ride. Sit in your garden, on your roof or on your balcony and take a deep breath. Not only is fresh air a must  to like … live, it is also amazing for your digestive system – it  improves your blood pressure and heart rate, makes you happier (yuss serotonin!), strengthens your immune system, cleans your lungs, gives you tons more energy and even a sharper mind.

4.Take the perfect selfie

  • When you feel your best, you look your best too! Wait until golden hour, get your best lashes on, start posing and if you are brave enough … start posting! (Psst: Give us a tag!)

5.Watch a movie

  • Pop a bag of popcorn, fill up a huge mug of hot chocolate and turn on a good movie. Watching a movie in the comfort of your own home can be revitalising. It allows you to disconnect, relax and have a good time. Movies make you laugh and make you feel happy, and can even change your mental state – push  you to be more creative, flexible and  more innovative. Nothing good on TV? 6.Learn more about Women’s Day in South Africa

  • In South Africa, Women’s Day celebrates the bold steps taken in the iconic Women’s March on  9 August 1956. In this  epic protest over 20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Learn more here

7.Remember how truly amazing you are

  • While there is so much to worry about in our professional, mental, physical and even personal life (I am talking to you, Covid-19), there is also so much to be grateful for. 'You is kind. You is smart. You is important.' - Kathryn Stockett. And you are an extraordinary South African woman with so much to offer the world.
